M14102 Optical Trinocular Industrial Polarizing Microscope Polarizing microscope is an indispensable instrument for the research and identification of birefringent substances by using the polarization characteristics of light. It can be used for single-polarized observation, cross-polarized observation and conoscopic observation. It’s a method of changing ordinary light into polarized light for microscopic inspection to identify whether a substance is single refraction (anisotropy) or birefringence (anisotropy). Birefringence is the basic characteristic of crystals. Therefore, polarized light microscopes are widely used in minerals, chemistry and other fields. In humans and zoology, polarized light microscopy is often used to identify bones, teeth, cholesterol, nerve fibers, tumor cells, striated muscle, and hair.
